I’ll Stand By You

This song by Carrie Underwood is in two keys: C and D.
Towards the end, it is raised to E. Part 6 is the same as Part 3 in E key.
The chords in brackets are transitional.

These are the “cheat” chords I played…
Part 1a: C - Em - F - F/G - G/B
Part 1b: C - Em/A - Em - F - Am7 - G
Part 2: Em - Am7 - Em - Am7 - F - F/G - G
Part 3: D - Bm7 - Am7 - (G)
Part 4: D - Bm7 - G - Bm7 - A
Part 5: F#m7 - Bm7 - F#m7 - Bm7 - G - A - B - (B/D#)
Part 6: E - C#m7 - Bm7 - (A)

you’re AWSOME !!!!
Hi there,
I was just wondering where the low chorus is? You start the song in verse 2 onwards. I am just learning but struggling to find where the first chorus is supposed to fit.
Thanks
Hi there,
I was just wondering what the chords are for the first chorus, you start the song in the second verse followed by the high chorus??? I am just learning and I’m so greatful for your tutorial but id like to play from the start. Do you know what I mean?
Thanks
Hi Victoria, yes, I understand what you mean. Though in terms of melody, there may be slight variations between first and second verse, but in terms of accompaniment, they are actually the same. The same goes with chorus too. I hope this answers your question.
