安静 — 周杰伦
This song by Jay Chou begins in Bb, and modulates to C towards the end. This video only shows the song in Bb.
These are the “cheat” chords I played…
Part 1a: Bb - F/A - Gm7 - Gm7/F - Eb - Bb/D - Cm7 - Eb/F
Part 1b: Bb - F/A - Gm7 - Gm7/F - Eb - Ebm6
Part 2a: Cm7 - F - Dm7 - G - F/A - G/B
Part 2b: Cm7 - Bb/D - Eb - Eb/F
Part 3a: Bb - F/A - Gm7 - Gm7/F
Part 3b: Eb - Dm7 - Gm7 - Cm7 - Eb/F

sorry, i wanna ask how do I know when I should use which chord?
Needa refer to the melody? can u use this song as an example?
If I were to write my own song, then I will listen to the melody. For pop songs that are already recorded, it’s much easier to just listen to the bass notes. If you looked carefully at the chord patterns I had written out below this video, e.g., Part 1a, you would notice that the bass notes actually walked down the scale, i.e., Bb-A-G-F-Eb-D-C. That pattern is something you can hear on the song itself, so there is no secret at all. The trick is in knowing what chords to accompany those bass notes. Again, you can refer to my posts under “Cheat Theories” and “Cheat Tricks” for some tips there. If you have any further query, I’ll be glad to answer.
thanks so much, but i woud like to ask whats Cm7? I know it means I use left hand to play the C note, how about the right hand?
The right hand should play C, Eb, G and Bb.
what you mean this code ‘F/A’..??
i’m just the beginer for piano..
Ah Bie, that means an F chord. Play the F chord on the right hand, and an A bass note on the left hand.
hi, just wonder u got the music sheet for violin version?
Hi elaine, I don’t have any music sheet, but you can try some of the links on the right-hand panel of this site. There are some links there that lead to sites that provide sheet music. Hope this helps.
