This song by Jason Mraz is a request by a reader.
Part 1a and Part 1b are actually the same except for that additional bit at the end of Part 1b.
Part 2 is an interlude. So in fact the whole song can be played using just Part 1a.
These are the “cheat” chords I played…
Part 1a: B - F# - G#m7 - E2
Part 1b: B - F# - G#m7 - E2 - C#/F
Part 2: B - F#/A# - G#m7 - G#m7/F# - E2 - C#/F

isnt this played on the guitar.. not the piano?
Yes, it was originally on guitar. This is done on the request by a reader. But I also think you can play it on any instrument you like.
Why won’t it let me show the video?!?!?!?! can someone send me the notes? Thanks!
Hi!
Could you please post the notes!
PLEASE.
It would be MUCH easier for me as i’m like 12 && I dont play much but this is my fav songg
Hi Alice, it would be too tedious for me to post the notes, but I believe the video is quite clear, and should be easy to follow.
Hello.
How about the introduction?
The rest of the vid is good though.
Hi Samuel, I don’t usually do the intro for illustration, as intro of a song is usually done quite differently from the song itself (for most songs). Sometimes the progression may be the same as a certain part of the song, but the notes are played out separately rather than as chords. So I tend to just go straight into the song instead.
Anyway, one is free to do a different intro from the original. Haha! Thank you for visiting and your comment.
i just love this song, it in any shape or form is very nice. it so much reminds of my son, he finally left the nest in search for GOD and for himself, GOD BLESS my son, and helps him in every step that he takes, and thank you very much for all the great work that you do, and all the great help, with all the songs. ( GOD BLESS YOU)
Thank Mario, for your comment!
its a nice song!! but can make some videos without that ”ting” …only the piao its self ^_^
Hi ALcea, I usually don’t go back to re-doing a video.
The ding sound is to guide the viewer of the video so he/she knows which part of the song is being played.
Thank you for your visit and comment.
Hey, i like your video’s and im just starting keyboard. What are the easy songs on your site so i can start playing, as im finding some difficult..
That would b a gr8 help!
I think the church songs are easier. Hahaha!
umm…… i’m like 13 and i really need the notes/ cords and can you show us how to learn this step by step plz. And how long do you think this is going to take me to learn. i’m a starter so ya.
Hi skarlet, the chords are already on the post, right below the video. It would be tedious to write the notes. Sorry I can’t show you any clearer than I already did. I guess what is really needed is the sense of “beat” or rhythm. You need to get that first, and coordinate your two hands to play that rhythm. That would be about it! Oh ya… don’t follow my use of fingers.
Whats the notes for the ding ding part?
Hi cass, thank you for visiting. I don’t have the notes for the melody (ding-ding part). I recorded the melody track bit by bit while playing back the original song.
it waz awesome!!!! thankz
:D
Um so im doing this song for my middle school talent show, and i cant find the whole song.:( its very frustrating going from site to site looking for it, so if you could-would you re-do this, and the the ENTIRE song? it would mean the absolute world to me.(:
Hi Briana, I’ve so many songs waiting on the queue, that it would be considered time-consuming for me to re-do any song. If you listen carefully, the parts I that are not shown in my video are simply repeats of what you can see on the video. Pls give that a go.
I’ so confused about where my finger ( right hand) should be placed..Can this be played only with 3 fingers?
Just use the fingers that make it easiest for you to reach the keys/notes. Sure, it can be done with 3 fingers, but I don’t think I’m gonna re-do the video.
:)LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
