Hi ken, I identify them by ear. I guess after having tried to identify chords from many, many songs, I’m able to distinguish between different types of chords. I don’t get them right all the time. That’s why I always use the words “cheat chords”, as I cannot guarantee that the original chords are actually these chords that I use/play. I can only try to sound as close to the original as I possibly know. Haha!
